This year's Father's Day promises to be a special one for my family as we celebrate two of our sons who became dads in November… our youngest for the first time. The joy our grandchildren bring us is beyond description. I’m filled with pride as our sons navigate the joys and challenges of parenthood, and I often think fondly of how proud my own father would be of them too.

Father's Day—around our house anyway—always includes not only a celebratory meal but also two favorite activities: golf and fishing. Coincidentally there’s been a fun resurgence of fish imagery in the housewares industry this year. There are fabulous linens and bold dishware showcasing many shades of blue, adorned with designs of big fish and little fish.
Even tinned fish has seen an explosion of interest recently! I'm a keen a-fish-ionado myself, and it's wonderful that we're able to offer some of the world's best canned and jarred seafood products from Italy, Portugal, Spain and the east coast of Canada.

We're sharing three recipes with you today. The first is inspired by one of my favorite seafood dishes from the south of France. Have you ever heard of a pissaladière? It’s a rustic tart that features anchovies, black olives and tomatoes. I’ve turned it into a delicious and easy-to-make pizza recipe featuring Vicente Marino Mediterranean anchovy fillets from Sicily.
This pizza can be baked at home on our much-loved Emile Henry pizza stone, a made-in-France workhorse that has been a top seller at Jill's Table for almost 20 years. Regularly $120, it’s on special for $99.99.

Not everyone is lucky enough to enjoy fish, so for our second recipe we've put together a delicious taco rice recipe inspired by one our store colleague Machiko brought to us. (Thank you Machiko!) This crowd-pleaser features Canadian-made Kozlik’s Maple Whiskey BBQ Sauce and is a simple but fabulous combination of ingredients, best served with our cantina style tortilla chips made right here in Ontario by Casa Bonita.

If Dad’s got a sweet tooth, treat him to Chef Ran’s irresistibly creamy Basque cheesecake, generously topped with our luscious Jill's Table Brandied Cherry Sauce that we partner with Moss Berry Farms to produce. (Tip: this cherry sauce is equally dreamy over a scoop of ice cream!)
