Hello
from Jill

Spring has sprung! After a long winter, it's wonderful to welcome the warmth, colors, and promise of renewal spring brings. Spring also brings Easter of course; the first feast of the year.

Daily visits to my garden to watch the daffodils slowly emerge from the earth are a delight. I’m keeping close watch on my perennial herbs too, eagerly anticipating the vibrant flavors they'll bring to countless spring and summer meals.

Jill’s Table is at the ready to help you usher in spring and Easter, too. We visited some trade shows earlier in the year, on the hunt for exciting new products and I'm pleased to be able a few new spring items—and some re-stocked favourites—with you today.
We’re pleased to be re-stocked with Canadian made Rain Goose 100% linen tea towels. We love how each one is like a little piece of art for your kitchen.
New to our textiles and linens collection is Ulster Weavers; this Irish company has a lovely range of products. Details to come!
Earthly Co. notpaper™ reusable paper is a zero-waste washable alternative to disposable paper towels and napkins. Made from 100% cotton flannel, they're only $17.99 for a set of 10. A beautiful range of styles to choose from is available in-store.

Outdoor entertaining is right around the corner, bringing with it sunshine, fresh flavors, and vibrant colors. I can't wait to break out some brightly coloured housewares. Nothing says spring quite like a cheerful pop of yellow and bright, zesty lemons.
We instantly fell in love with Paperproduct Design’s new Lemon Musée Bamboo Salad Bowl Set—perfect for potluck gatherings and picnics. With its beautiful lemon imagery, it was an easy “must-have” for us at Jill’s Table.

For a burst of spring color in your kitchen, Staub’s new citron 4 quart cocotte is a truly standout piece. A $450 value, we're pleased to have an introductory offer at $249.99 (in-stock only, while quantities last).

Check out our best-selling Filotea lemon pasta and Itaca lemon oil. And our Belazu preserved lemons are perfect for North African dishes and add a refreshing twist to all kinds of summer garden salads.
Speaking of getting into the garden, we’ve been poring over Lynn Crawford and Lora Kirk’s new cookbook Two Chefs in the Garden (Penguin Random House, $45). This beautifully written compilation is filled with fabulous vegetarian recipes and photos, and is a welcome follow-up to their previous best-seller Hearth & Home. We particularly admire the adorable family photos of Lynn and Lora’s young family on their farm.

For those celebrating Easter, we’ve created a beautifully curated Easter table in the store, featuring adorable mugs, napkins and all kinds of egg cups. Do drop in and check it out. The front table is also currently showcasing many of our favourite Canadian products, including our Canadiana Basket (which, if you're looking for Easter gift ideas, is a real crowd-pleaser).
Our annual shipment of Fiascinaro Colomba Classica has arrived. This delectable Sicilian cake is a tradition in many homes this time of year. Pick it up in-store for $29.99 or find it in the Spring/Easter collection on the e-store.
Now onto the recipes! We have two delicious spring recipes for you today:

Remember Say Cheese restaurant and their spectacular soups? Fond memories inspired us to recreate and tweak a delicious Mushroom & Dijon Soup recipe. It features a rosemary mustard from Kozlik’s, whose fabulous mustards have been a mainstay at Jill’s Table for many years. They're a Canadian company producing a great range of stellar mustards.
For a sweet finish, we’ve embraced another harbinger of spring, maple syrup. Using La Fabrick Whisky Maple syrup from Quebec, we developed a delicious Maple Whiskey trifle. It also includes Martin Picard’s Maple Condensed Milk. A decadent and delicious way to end an Easter meal.

Here’s to the renewal of spring, to sunny days ahead, and to the joy of gathering around our tables with family and friends!

P.S. These are indeed concerning times and our thoughts are with those who are facing uncertainty. We're working tirelessly to source and secure new and alternative sources for the high quality food and housewares you have come to expect from Jill's Table from Canadian sources as much as possible.

Of course, not everything is available domestically. When specialty products are not found in Canada we can continue to rely on our longstanding relationships with reputable suppliers across Europe, Asia, and beyond.
