Hello
from Jill

Each year as we happily prepare for the holidays at Jill’s Table, I invariably look forward to finding and supplying unique, interesting, delicious, and fun items for stocking stuffers. People count on us to bring in old family-favourite stocking stuffers, too, many of which can be hard to find elsewhere.

The ritual of filling stockings is a highlight of the season for many families and it's hearwarming to know I play a little role in that. Our long oak table in the Jill's Table kitchen has been home to our stocking stuffers for years. The table hosts a curated collection of sweet treats, specialty foods, kitchen gadgets, and all variety of holiday gifts. It is, without a doubt, our most visited part of the store.

Some perennial favourites are back again this year such as tomato paste in a tube and our best-selling Polish scrubbies. Giving these as stocking stuffers has become an annual tradition for some families!

This is far from a complete list, but here's just a sample of stocking stuffer ideas that are waiting for you in-store this year at Jill's Table:
Housewares
This is the infamous World’s Best Pot Scrubber from Poland. It's called World's Best for a reason.
Do you have a Jar Key? It helps open just about any kind of jar, and I will never be without one.
This polished stainless Brownie Server isn't just beautiful, it also comes in surprisingly handy.
Brown Sugar Disks really do work at keeping your brown sugar soft. (Danica maple leaf)
We're carrying Panier Des Sens, a wonderful new line of soaps and creams from France.
This stylish premium reusable folding bag from Loqi has a terrific Canadian design.
For Foodies
For tomato lovers, we have our perennial favourite Rodolfi tomato paste in a tube, of course.
Joe Beef Ketchup, from Montreal, is a hit!
Be sure to to try Garlicky Sundried Tomato Dip from Weekend at the Cottage
From Peru, cute little Sweety Drop Peppers are fabulous on a salad or to garnish an appetizer.
For the heat lover, don’t forget Proper Heathen’s Chili Crisp.
On the sweet side, Favuzzi Gianduiotti is a luscious combination of chocolate and hazelnut.

Recipes
Even though it's the holidays, we still need recipes and everyday dinners to get through the busy weeks. Today I'm sharing some easy yet hearty and delicious recipes.
I brought a fabulous recipe home from northern Spain this year for Tortilla Española. Sometimes called a tortilla de patatas, it's a delicious and satisfying egg and potato omelette. I also serve it as an appetizer with a delicious romesco sauce.
With time in short supply during the holidays, this is a great time to re-share a favourite dish that uses Stonewall Kitchen’s Coconut Curry Simmering Sauce and comes together very quickly. Simply omitting the chicken makes for a fabulous vegetarian dinner. Serve it over basmati rice, of course.
Lastly, this is a hardly-even-a-recipe recipe but too good not to share. If you haven't tried the GoodPud chocolate puddings in our freezer, please do! Top these with any of the many cherry items we have available for a super easy, super satisfying dessert.
Parking Tips
Covent Garden Market, right across the street, continues to offer free one hour parking on weekdays and two hours on the weekend in their underground parking garage. It's perfectly fine to validate there and visit us! Just pop into the market and validate your ticket at the machine in the center of the building.

For street spots, code "CORE" gives 1 hour of free metered parking downtown when using the Honk Mobile app.

If you need to just pop in for a quick pick-up of an order, there are a couple of "courtesy loading & pick-up zones" on Talbot, most notably alongside J-Dee's and the hair salon. Just don't stop in the bus lane in front of the store on King!

If you are really pushed for time, remember most of our products are available online, and include free London delivery on orders over $150. (Under $150 and it's only a $10 flat rate).
This snowy holiday season is making things feel really festive this year, and we hope you're in good spirits. Christmas Day is now less than two weeks away, and holiday activities downtown are really ramping up. If you visit for the lights in Victoria park, the Holly Jolly Market at Covent Garden, or the free carousel rides in front of Canada Life Place, do pop by and say hello!

We're here to help make your Christmas a memorable one and are happy to assist you in store, online and over the phone. Happy holidays!
