Happy Holidays!

As I write this, I’m almost ready to put the final touches on my family holiday preparations. Like many people, I still need to pick up a few last-minute family gifts and ingredients for some special dishes we plan to enjoy together on Christmas Eve.

I can feel a special kinship this year with fellow shoppers who are part of the ongoing groundswell of support for Canadian products and vendors. There's a palpable sense that people are much more intentional about supporting Canadian businesses, small businesses, and local businesses.

That care has been felt deeply at Jill’s Table and your support has been especially heartwarming. We are truly grateful.
Canadian Products
We have always carried many Canadian products on our shelves but this year we had some new and notable suppliers come into our store to introduce themselves.
Wendy Duff of Diablo Spiced Products dropped in to see us back in April with her fabulous Diablo Nuts. These are a winner to include on a charcuterie board, or tossed into a salad.
Leanne and Gordon McArthur of Haven’s Creamery introduced us to their spectacular Bella Toffee in November and we have been constantly re-stocking our display ever since.

Embracing Canadian-made products has been a particular focus this year, so I’m tremendously glad these entrepreneurs made their way to our store. We look forward to building long relationships with them, alongside the many food companies we’ve proudly worked with for years. This includes businesses like Moss Berry Farm, Sprucewood Shortbreads, Weekend at the Cottage, The Garlic Box, Saltspring Kitchen Co., and Good Pud—to name a few.
On the Canadian housewares side, we have Meyer Cookware, Hilborn Pottery and Mike Sbrocca’s amazing wooden bowls.
So many of these products make beautiful gifts, perfect for host presents, stockings, or truly special hand-crafted moments.

If you need help with gift ideas or entertaining suggestions through this final stretch of holiday preparations, the Jill's Table team and I are here to help.
Appreciation
Speaking of the team, I’d like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thanks to this remarkable, talented, and dedicated group here at Jill’s Table. They are a true joy to work with.

And to our delivery drivers, suppliers, and sales representatives—especially those navigating winter storms—your hard work does not go unnoticed. We are deeply grateful.
Great Specials For Serious Cooking
We are pleased to continue to offer some exciting savings on many of the colours of the 4-quart and 5.5-quart Staub Cocottes. If you don't have a cocotte yet, there's no better vessel for making soups, stews, and slow-cooked or braised dishes, year round. An outstanding gift idea, or a special treat for yourself.
For those lucky enough to have switched to an induction cooktop, we have a special on the incredibly beautiful Hestan Roasters. These are induction friendly, and we know how many people like to make their gravy stove-top!
Recipes
It’s no secret that a roast turkey dinner is not my favourite meal. But give me turkey leftovers to work with... and I’m in heaven! Here's a quick and tasty dish for Turkey Quesadillas I developed using turkey leftovers, 46 Peaks barbecue sauce, and Casa Bonita corn tortillas—all Canadian-made products. I make it in a Victoria cast iron pan from Columbia.

And this is a perfect time for a quick round up of some of our other favourite recipes that might come in handy over the holidays. See below.
Before I close, I’d like to share a reminder about Business Cares, an initiative I’ve been involved with for more than eight years. We’re raising food and funds in support of the Food Bank, and any contribution would mean so much. Here is the link if you’re able to help out this year.

Once again, I’m truly overwhelmed by the generosity and support you continue to show Jill’s Table. Thank you, and I wish you and yours all the best for a happy, peaceful, and healthy holiday season.
