May is quickly approaching and I’m so excited. I love May. Spring is in full swing, my garden starts to burst, and we have Mother’s Day to celebrate.
And celebrate we will! Motherhood and food are so intertwined - both symbols of comfort and nurturing, so we certainly honour this special day at Jill’s Table.
To help celebrate the mother figures in your life, this newsletter combines both great recipes and perfect gift ideas. And as we began planning for it, along with our Spring and Mother’s Day windows, a French theme began to unfold. Lavender products and images in particular came to the forefront. So this Mother’s Day, we’re helping you give Mom a taste of France, without even leaving home.

Teisseire syrups from France have long been a staple on our shelves at Jill’s Table but remain unknown to many. We’ve created a beautiful peach mocktail using their syrup and served it up in a lovely French Rochère dragonfly glass.
Rochère is the oldest continuously operating glass manufacturer in Europe, running since 1475. (Can you imagine? That's over 500 years.) Rochère glassware has long been a favorite at Jill’s Table and always makes a charming gift.

As much as we are forever enamoured with our popular French market bags, we are thrilled to announce we're also now carrying fair trade, artisan-made hand woven Ghanaian baskets from Big Blue Moma. Big Blue Moma partners with communities in Ghana working to sustain their folk art traditions. It's a business we can really get behind, and moreover the craftsmanship is magnificent. These bags are truly meant to last decades, if not generations. Some are available on our e-store, but many more are in-store one-of-a-kinds so do be sure to drop in and behold them for yourself.
