Can you believe it? Spring is only 17 days away. It's been a warm but admittedly dreary winter, so we could all use an early jump on spring.
For a bright seasonal boost, we've curated a list of sunny food and houseware items featuring citrus of all sorts: lemon, grapefruit, blood orange, lime and yuzu. The taste, smell, and bright colours of citrus are simply fabulous for brightening meals and lifting spirits. So let’s bring on the sunshine!
This month's featured recipe pairs delicious Favuzzi blood orange marmalade from Sicily with The Proper Heathen Chili Crisp to make a fabulous glaze for pork tenderloin. Try it with chicken and fish, too. (And yes, the marmalade is also marvelous on morning toast.)
Also from Italy, Mussini vinegar and bar products make a great basis for a bright salad vinaigrette or terrific cocktails & mocktails. We're sharing a bright and zippy Limincino Spritz drink recipe below that uses delicious Mussini balsam.

If you have not tried Mexican Tajin, you are in for a treat. In addition to using this lime/chili/salt blend on all kinds of savoury Mexican-inspired dishes, it’s terrific sprinkled on pineapple and watermelon.
The scent of citrus is an effective pick-me-up too. Maison Berger has some terrific citrus-inspired fragrances to check out, including citrus breeze, orange cinnamon and grapefruit passion. We just love Maison Berger (and it's on sale for the month of March... details below). It's an amazing French product that quickly eliminates all kinds of household odours. Their physical design aesthetic is lovely too. Feel free to ask any of our helpful team the next time you are in the store for a demo. I would not be without this in my home to remove odors when cooking fish or curries. (By the way, they are just the ticket to deal with pet odours as well.)
Speaking of citrus aromas, we are delighted to launch Canadian-made The Bare Home kitchen products. We have their dish soap, hand soap and counter spray in refreshing scents of bergamot lime and lemon tea tree. Even better news: there will be refills available.

On a totally different topic, we began offering one of our King Street windows to The Embassy Cultural House during the pandemic. This was so well received that one of our windows is now a permanent home for them for most of the year. This month we are thrilled to feature the work of London artist Thelma Rosner. Thelma often celebrates the importance of culinary tools and ingredients in her many incredible paintings. Be sure to stop by for a look.
