Hello from Jill

Spring is officially here this week... and thankfully so after a very long winter!

Weather cancelled several family visits this year so I’m particularly looking forward to some upcoming family gatherings, the first of which is Easter — the first feast of the year. I can’t wait to get into my garden to harvest early herbs and welcome the flowers that are just starting to make their way out of the earth.

As always, Jill's Table is here to help you make the most of special occasions. We are excited to share some great recommendations of both new products and returning seasonal favourites.
Easter
For those celebrating Easter, we’ve created a beautifully curated Easter table at the front of the store featuring adorable mugs, plates, napkins and all kinds of egg-related dishes and housewares. Click here for a small sampling of what can be found in-store.
Easter Treats
Our much-anticipated annual shipment of Fiascinaro Colomba Classica has arrived. Each of these delicate and delectable Sicilian dove-shaped panettones takes 72 hours to make (!) and is a must-have tradition in many homes at this time of year.

The traditional Classica version features candied orange, or we also have a Cioccolato variety with chocolate drops. Fabulous as Easter dessert, with afternoon tea, or any time. Pro tip: leftovers make a fabulous breakfast ingredient! Pick them up in-store for $29.99 or find them in the Spring/Easter collection on the e-store.
Easter Cookware
Great cookware helps make large meals a pleasure to prepare. We've got great offers on the most beautiful roasting pans from All-Clad and Hestan. For everything else like sauces, braising, poaching, shallow-frying, searing, and pan-frying we love our new made-in-Canada Meyer 4 Quart Super Steel Sauté Pan. This induction-friendly daily workhorse will come in handy well after the holidays have come and gone. A $299 value, available at $129.99 for a limited time.
Fresh Spring Lemons
Nothing conveys the fresh, bright, and lively essense of spring quite like lemons, and it’s no secret that we love lemons at Jill’s Table.
  • Have you had an opportunity to try Chuck Hughes' Lemon Balsamic vinegar? It's a real hit. The next time you go to make a vinaigrette, we highly recommend giving this a try.
  • We are well-stocked with Favuzzi’s Sicilian Lemon Marmalade to brighten your morning toast.
  • Lemons continue to be a popular image in housewares. Our Lemon Musée Bamboo Salad Bowl Set was such a hit last year that we've expanded this year's collection with lovely matching coasters and napkins (in-store).
  • Pimpernell has released a fabulous new placemat design featuring Amalfi Lemons with matching coasters.
  • Fill your home with the scent of a bouquet of fresh, sunny citrus fruits with the help of Maison Berger's lemon flower fragrance.
  • In-store we have all kinds of useful lemon delights like Swedish dishcloths, aprons, soap dispensers, reamers, juicers and more.
  • For more lemon heaven, check out our Sunny Citrus collection on the e-store
Recipes for Get-Togethers
Now onto the recipes!

Caviar's resurging popularity continues to grow. We carry the highly sought-after Northern Divine sturgeon caviar, and we also stock the delicious (and considerably more affordable!) Mujjol caviar from Spain. It’s the perfect topping on our recipe for deviled eggs.
Sometimes it’s the simple things that are best; how about a thin slice of quality Italian prosciutto wrapped around a slice of fresh fig, melon, or a piece of pear? Placed in an Asian soup spoon with a simple drizzle of Ponti balsamic glaze on top and you've got a perfect, crowd-pleasing appetizer. No written recipe required!

We have a third appetizer recipe to share... a terrific salmon cheese ball. A little hit of Japanese shichimi togarashi really elevates this easy and delicious treat.
Each Easter meal I look forward to “the” family casserole that my sister-in-law Jan brings. This deliciously cheesy broccoli & cauliflower casserole is a family favourite recipe my late mother-in-law always made for special occasions.
And we're not quite done with lemons... if you haven't tried our dessert recipe for lemon cream, you are in for a delightful surprise at how surprisingly delicious and easy this is. It's the perfect ending to a special holiday meal.
New Year, New Basket
The outdoor farmers' market at Covent Garden will be once again outdoors starting Easter weekend. If you need a new market basket, we continue to carry a lovely selection of European-style market baskets as well as the ever-popular sugarcane-based Hinza bags from Sweden.
Here’s to the renewal of spring, to sunshine ahead, and to the joy of gathering around our tables with family and friends!
